Nicola Francesco Formichetti is an Italian fashion designer. He is the founder and creative director of the brand Nicola Formichetti since 1993. He is also the creative director of the labels "Nicola Formichetti", "Gianni Versace", and "Acne Studios". In 2012, he was named one of the 100 most powerful people in Italian fashion by Vanity Fair Italia, and in 2013, he was nominated for the CFDA Designer Award.

He has been responsible for creating and directing numerous collections for "Alexander McQueen" and his work has been showcased in Milan, Paris, Hong Kong, New York City, Los Angeles and London. He has appeared on the covers of Vogue Paris, Vogue Italy, Vogue Japan, GQ Magazine amongst many others.
In 2015 Formichetti opened his first eponymous store on Bond Street in London.
Formichetti designed his first collection with American brand "Alexander McQueen" in 1997. The line includes ready-to-wear, accessories and eyewear.
From 1997 to 1997 Formichetti designed the eyewear line "Gianni Versace".
The collection is currently being produced by Dolce & Gabbana under license with Versace.
Formichetti designed for "Acne Studios" from 2002 to 2003 until he was fired after a disagreement with their owner Patrik Ervell on how to progress the line's commercial potential.
In 2003 Nicola Formichetti founded his own label "Nicola Formichetti".
His first collection was presented during Milan Fashion Week in July 2004. The diffusion followed the same year in Tokyo followed by New York, Paris and London in 2005. Today it is sold around the world including Japan, Spain, Germany, Italy, Canada France, United Kingdom etc..
