Michele Bardsley is a British author who has written over sixty novels, several short stories and fourteen non-fiction books, including the best selling "Women Behind Bars" series. Her novel "The Last Prisoner" was featured in Reader's Digest magazine's "Best Books of the Year". Michele began writing in her twenties under the guidance of her mother, who encouraged her to write even though she did not have a formal education. She wrote her first novel at age twenty-one, which was published by Grafton Books in London.
