A former restaurant critic for the New York Times, he has been profiled in numerous publications, including Saveur Magazine, Food Arts Magazine, Cook's Illustrated Magazine, The Washingtonian Magazine, Gourmet Magazine, Esquire Magazine, Cooking Light Magazine, Bon Appétit Magazine and The New York Times. As a consultant and teacher of culinary arts and as the head chef at the French Laundry and Craftsman and Wolves restaurants in San Francisco and Napa Valley respectively, he has trained many chefs around the world
