Mary Brock Jones is a non-fiction author of books on the history, philosophy, and culture of France. In addition to her academic career as a professor of French at the University of West Georgia, she has been a research fellow at the Château de Versailles and a member of the board of the French Institute in New York. She has traveled extensively in France, and her interests have included contemporary art, architecture, history, and language. Her first book was a critically acclaimed biography of Frédéric Chopin
Her second book was a biography of Marie Antoinette. Her third book was a biography of Victor Hugo, which was translated into French as "Le Temps des Orages."
