Marva Collins was one of the most influential educators of the 20th century. Through her school, she changed the lives of countless young people for the better. Collins started her career at the end of the Depression, teaching at an inner-city school in Chicago. She developed a curriculum that she believed would create strong, competent young people who could succeed in any environment
This program soon became known as "Success for All." Her innovative methods provided children with basic life skills and prepared them to get along in an increasingly crowded world. Collins believed that each child was born with innate abilities and opportunities. She also believed children were capable of achieving success through hard work and dedication to their goals.
She didn't believe in separating a child's academics from life skills, believing that they went hand-in-hand.
