Martha Alderson is a children's novelist. She mainly writes fiction for young readers, but has also written picture books and some nonfiction. She won the 2009 New England Book Award for her children's novel Miss Rumphius. Her 2009 novel A World Alone was shortlisted for the Miles Franklin award and won the New South Wales Premier's Literary Award for Young Adults
