Lois Capps is an award-winning author, journalist and teacher. Lois studied journalism at the University of Missouri, Columbia, where she was a member of the Missouri Express news team. She began her career in radio in 1946 as a reporter for KCMO in Kansas City, MO and went on to report for WLW in Cincinnati, OH and WSB in Atlanta before moving to Denver in 1963. In 1970 she became a columnist for the Rocky Mountain News. In 1979 she joined KDVR in Denver, where she worked until 1990.
From 1990 to 1999 Lois served as executive director of the Rocky Mountain News Foundation, an educational foundation that honors journalists who have made outstanding contributions to their profession.
