Lizelle DuPlessis is a Haitian Canadian citizen and a writer of Caribbean descent. Her poetry has appeared in literary journals and anthologies, and her short stories have been published in literary magazines. She grew up in a family of writers, and attributes the love of writing to that influence. In 2008, she was awarded an Ontario Arts Council grant for her novel, One Night With the Sun.
