L. G. Elliott was born in Wales in 1875, emigrated to Canada at age six, and later moved to London, Ontario. He is the author of five novels, the most famous of which is The Covered Bridge (1911)
He also wrote two collections of short stories, several volumes of poetry, and numerous articles in various periodicals. He died in 1954.
