Kunal Karan Kapoor is a novelist, screenwriter, and director. His debut novel 'The Last Train to Guru Gobind Singh' was published in the UK by HarperCollins India in February 2013. He is also the author of two books of short stories, 'Award' and 'The Grandmother'.
Kunal has written numerous screenplays including 'Sonch' for director Nagesh Kukunoor, 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatein' for Sanjay Chhel, 'Shimla Mirch' for Satish Kaushik and occasionally writes stage plays. Kunal has directed films like 'Agneepath', 'Phir Kabhi Haal Pehchan', 'Black Friday', 'Raaz 3',and the forthcoming films 'Vicky Donor' and 'Shakti The Power Of Destruction'.

His father Captain Gurdarshan Kapoor was a lecturer who worked in public sector banks while his mother worked in advertising. He graduated with a degree in Economics from St. Stephen's College, Delhi University.
Kunal married actress Celina Jaitley on 31st December 2012 at Hotel Taj Lands End Mumbai. They have one son named Shuvro who was born on 6th February 2014.
Kunal is currently based out of Mumbai where he runs his film production company "Urban Masala" along with his wife Celina Jaitley and Directors Nagesh Kukunoor, Amit Sharma & Sanjay Chhel.
