Kjell Magne Bondevik (born December 17, 1941) is a Norwegian politician and the Prime Minister of Norway from 2000 to 2005. He has been leader of the Norwegian Labour Party since 1990. Bondevik was born in Bergen and studied mathematics at the University of Oslo. Elected to the Storting in 1989, he became Minister of Trade and Shipping in 1990, Minister of Oil and Energy in 1992, Minister of Foreign Affairs in 1993, and Deputy Chairman of the Storting Committee on Energi in 1995
