Kathryn Bigelow is an American film director and producer. Bigelow received the 2009 Academy Award for Best Director and the 2010 Academy Award for Best Picture for her second feature film, The Hurt Locker. She is also known for directing the science-fiction action film K-19: The Widowmaker (2002), and the action thriller Strange Days (1995).
