Katherine Howe received her B.A. from Denison University, her M.A. from Southern Methodist University, and her PhD from the University of Texas at Austin. Her dissertation is titled, "The Reconstruction of Historical Fact in Rhetorical Discourse." She has held teaching positions at Drew University, the University of Pennsylvania, and Southern Methodist University
She has published essays on Renaissance literature and literary theory in the Modern Language Association Bulletin, the South Atlantic Quarterly, Studies in Romanticism, Modern Language Notes, and Modern Philology. She is currently a Professor of English at Southern Methodist University.
