John Walters is former senior advisor to President George W. Bush on Homeland Security. He was the principal deputy director of the CIA from 2001 to 2005, having previously served as director of the office of public affairs, chief speechwriter to the director of central intelligence, and special assistant to former Vice President Dan Quayle.
