John Madden is a former American football player, coach, and television commentator. He is the only person to have been both an NFL head coach for 15 seasons, and an NFL quarterback for 15 seasons, in American professional football history. He was the starting quarterback for the Oakland Raiders from 1969 to 1976. He also served as the head coach of the NFL's Raiders for nine seasons, from 1977 to 1983.
