John Guare is an award-winning playwright and playwright-director. He has been called "the American Chekhov," and his plays have won the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best Play, the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play, and the Obie Award for Best American Play. Guare's plays include "Six Degrees of Separation," "Six Degrees of Separation," "House of Blue Leaves," and "The House of Blue Leaves." He is a five-time Tony Award nominee who has received three nominations for Best Play.
