John Dean was White House Counsel to President Richard Nixon from June 1973 to April 11, 1973. Dean was the principal architect of the cover up of the Watergate break-in, and of the cover up of the "third-rate burglary" that was the focus of the Senate Watergate Committee's investigation. He is a leading authority on intelligence and intelligence operations, and has written a number of books on intelligence and national security issues. He currently teaches a course at Georgetown University on intelligence and national security issues.
