James Earl "Jim" Morrison was an American singer, songwriter, and poet from Florida whose career spanned from 1960 to 1971. During his brief career, he is best known as the lead singer of the American rock band The Doors. His experimental performances and provocative lyrics resulted in a cult following despite a relatively brief active recording career. He died at age 27 in Paris, France, after being discovered unconscious outside a Paris hotel room.
