In 2003 he starred in The United States of Tara directed by Lisa Cholodenko, while the 2004 comedy film adaptation of the television series "My Name Is Earl" featured him in a supporting role. He portrayed Joshua Jackson's boyfriend on Dawson's Creek from 1998 to 2002.
