Jejomar Binay was a Mayor of Makati City from 1998 to 2001 and Vice-President of the Philippines from 2001 to 2010. He was Vice-Chairman of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) for almost ten years. He is the son of former President Joseph Ejercito Estrada and his first wife, Elizabeth Zimmerman. He served as Makati City's Executive Officer for three years before being elected Mayor of Makati in 1998.
