Ivor Brown is one of Ireland’s most prolific writers of the written word. He is the author of over 40 books, including his first novel ‘A Free Man’ (1953) which was shortlisted for the Booker Prize. He has written extensively on the history of the Irish experiment in self-government, which he first documented in his book on 1798 (1967). He has also penned biographies on Charles Stewart Parnell (1958), Wolfe Tone (1971), and Edmund Burke (1976) as well as several novels, including ‘The Last King of Ireland’ (1954), ‘A Free Man’, ‘The Lost Prince’, and ‘The Last King of Ireland II’.
