Fukui joined the faculty at Purdue University as an assistant professor in 1970 and became a full professor of physics there in 1985. He was also the director of the Purdue Space Science Center (PSSC) from 1975 to 1992. After retiring from Purdue University, Dr.
Fukui continued his research at PSSC for another ten years. Dr. Fukui has published over 100 papers on various aspects of space science and particle physics, including general relativity; black holes; subatomic particles; vacuum field; cosmology; quark theory; neutrinos; gravitational waves; fusion power technology; solar power satellites; space debris mitigation; space debris mitigation technologies (SEMIT); compact fusion reactor (CFR); tokamak fusion reactor (TFR); magnetized target fusion (MTF); toroidal fusion reactor (TFR); magnetic confinement fusion (MCF); plasma-facing reaction chamber (PFRC).
From 1990 to 2000, he served as editor for "International Journal of High Energy Physics". Since 2001, he has worked as a scientific consultant for various companies dealing with various aspects of energy generation and power generation technologies.
