Inna Swinton is a British film producer, actress, and model. She began her career as an actress in the early 1980s, at the age of 18, with appearances in the films Superman II (1980), The Empire Strikes Back (1980), and The Empire Strikes Back: Special Edition (1997). She was cast as the lead in the TV series St Trinian's (1981), which has since become a cult classic. She later starred in the films Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984)

Swinton went on to appear in more than twenty films including Nuns on the Run (1987), Excalibur (1981), Killer's Kiss (1989), The Age of Innocence (1993), The Scarlet Letter (2003) and Hannibal Rising (2007). As an actress she is perhaps best known for her role as the villainous mutant Mystique in X-Men (2000), X2: X-Men United (2002) and X-Men: First Class (2011).
