H.V. Morton was born in Warwickshire, England, in 1876. He died in London on December 2, 1953. At this time he founded The Society of Medical Officers for Controlling Venereal Diseases (SOMCVD) which became the Royal College for Controlling Venereal Diseases (RCCD), an independent national college for sexual medicine. He wrote numerous works on venereal disease and its control including Sex Education for Modern Youth, The Facts about Venereal Diseases, and The Prevention of Venereal Disease by Hygiene.
