Hideo Kojima is a Japanese video game designer, director, and producer. In a career spanning nearly thirty years, Kojima has been involved with the design of some of the most well-known and influential games ever made. In 1986, he was promoted to the position of director for the 1987 game Policenauts, making him one of the first Western developers to work on a Metal Gear title. After directing Metal Gear, Kojima became a producer for Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake in 1990, and became a director for Metal Gear Solid in 1998. In 2000, he went on to direct MGS3: Snake Eater.
In 2003, he created Zone of the Enders and Dead Rising in 2004, respectively. In 2005, Kojima formed his own development studio -Kojima Productions Co., Ltd.-
