Herdeb was born in the Netherlands. She studied art history at Amsterdam University. Her first book, Modesty Blaise, was published in 2008. Herdeb has written since then the four 'Modesty Blaise' novels plus a concerto, a radio play and two short stories
She is also the author of two other novels, 'Aja' and 'The Doll's House', which are not connected to the Modesty Blaise series.
