Hendrik Hertzberg was born in Rotterdam in 1960. He studied at the Faculty of Law in Leiden, where he obtained his PhD in 1995, after which he published several articles on Dutch and European constitutional law. In 2004 he became a professor at the University of Amsterdam and is now also a visiting professor at the University of The Hague. Hendrik Hertzberg has published several books on constitutional, legal and political issues.
