Harold Macmillan (1894-1986) was the only Prime Minister of the United Kingdom to be born outside the British Isles. He was Prime Minister from 1957 to 1960 and then from 1963 to 1964 (when he resigned), and again from 1970 to 1974. He was the last British Prime Minister to serve under Queen Elizabeth II; his successor, Harold Wilson, did not take office until April 4, 1976.
