G.G. Collins is a native of Dayton, Ohio, and is known for his association with Dayton's most famous writer Harry Caudill. He has written for numerous magazines including Atlantic Monthly, Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Esquire's Men's Journal, The Saturday Evening Post, and the New York Times Magazine. Collins has produced four short story collections: Westerns (1964), Erotic Westerns (1979), African American Stories (1989) and The Color of Love (1993). He is also the author of two collections of essays: I Thought That Was My Husband; And Other Tales From the South (1990), which won the Southern Book Award; and When You Get to Heaven (1992). He has written more than fifty books, many of which are about the South, including several books about Caudill.
His most recent book is The Adventures of Harry Caudill (2012).
