Friedensreich Hundertwasser (born René Seligman Hundertwasser, 27 September 1928 – 24 October 2000) was a famous Austrian architect and painter. He is best known for his art that featured fanciful profusions of color and surreal imagery while also being characterized by its political and social criticism. He is widely regarded as a European eccentric for his unusual approach to painting and architecture which he called "Urban Nihilism."
