Freida Pinto was born on July 7, 1982, in Mumbai, India. She is an actress who has established herself as one of the most exciting actresses of her generation. She first came to international attention for her performance as the title character in Mira Nair's Academy Award-winning film, Slumdog Millionaire (2008), for which she won a Golden Globe and a BAFTA Award. She has since gone on to star in critically acclaimed films such as The Tempest (2010), The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (2009), and the upcoming film adaptation of Aravind Adiga's novel, The White Tiger (2012).
