Frederick Pollock was born in Manchester, England, in 1869. He read medicine at University College, London, and the Middlesex Hospital Medical School. He graduated with honors in medicine in 1898, and later worked as a house physician in the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. In 1901 he married his wife, Maud
