Fred Saberhagen is an American science fiction and fantasy writer. He usually writes in the Sword and Sorcery genre, using elements of both Fantasy and Science Fiction. His best known works are the trilogy The Book of Swords (1987), The Book of Swords II (1989), and The Wheel of Time (1992). His other works include the novel The Tavern Knight (1995), three novels relating to the Dragonlance game setting, and several shorter works.
