Franklin P. Jones was born in Memphis, Tennessee on November 13, 1924. He was educated at Tennessee State University and the University of Mississippi, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in History in 1946.
Dr. Jones has lived in Dallas since 1955 and holds degrees from two of its most prestigious institutions: Southern Methodist University (Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws), and the University of Texas (Master of Arts).
