Francis Picabia was a French painter who co-founded the Dada movement during World War I. He founded the publishing house of "Indépendants" which was later renamed "Galerie l'Ephémère". Picabia is most famous for his work in Cubism, producing collages and assemblages. His works are held in major museum collections worldwide
His major influences included Marcel Duchamp, Wassily Kandinsky, and the artist Max Ernst.
