He was a member of the Board of Trustees for a major Islamic university in Saudi Arabia until 2006. Dr. Rauf also serves as a trustee for the Centre for Islamic Thought and Civilization at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, and is a chairman of its National Advisory Board.
In addition, he has been named a "Global Leader for Tomorrow" by the World Economic Forum. In 2007, Dr. Rauf founded the Cordoba Initiative to bring together leaders from different faiths for dialogue and mutual understanding.
He is currently working on a sequel to his book Jihad by Dialogue: Martyrdom for Others?
