Evelyn Glennie is an internationally recognized concert pianist and winner of the 2014 BBC Young Musician of the Year Award. She was born in Scotland and moved to Canada at age 3. At age 11, she played for the Queen and Prince Philip at Buckingham Palace. At age 13, she performed at the Royal Albert Hall and later studied at the Royal College of Music in London and with Professor Vladimir Jurowski at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia

In her concerts around the world, she has performed with many of the world's best-known musicians including Sir James Galway, Sir Simon Rattle, Sir Simon Lebon, Colin Carr, Takako Nishizaki, David Robertson, and Kurt Masur. Since 1986, she has been a member of the piano faculty at Yale University School of Music where she has taught conducting classes to doctoral candidates. She also teaches at Ravinia Festival where she is on the faculty of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's summer program.
Her recordings have earned her two Grammy nominations.
