Estelle Morris is the current Secretary of State for International Development. She was first elected to Parliament in 1992, becoming the first woman Deputy Leader of the Labour party. After the 1997 general election, she became Secretary of State for Education and Employment, before being appointed Home Secretary in June 2001. She was forced to resign following the 2004 general election after it emerged that she had lied about her expenses during the election campaign
She was born in 1943 in Pimlico, London.
