Erskine Bowles, Co-chairman of the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, was the former White House Chief of Staff to President Bill Clinton. He served as a U.S. Senator from Maine from 1994 to 2003 and as a member of the Democratic Leadership Council. He was a member of the bipartisan Simpson-Bowles Commission's fiscal commission on debt and deficit reduction.
