Eric Heiden was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, on February 11, 1952. In 1977, Eric was inducted into the U.S. Soccer Hall of Fame. In 1979, Eric played on the Olympic Soccer Team that represented the United States in Moscow during the 1980 Olympics.

Eric went on to play professionally for seven seasons with the North American Soccer League's New England Tea Men. In 1984, Eric became executive director of the U.S. Soccer Federation's Development Academy for boys under 12 years old and served in that position until 1994 when he became director of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

He currently serves as president of NSCAA and is also a board member at USA Football (the official governing body for soccer in the United States). Eric hosts "Top Drawer Soccer," a weekly radio show that airs nationwide on Sirius XM radio. He has also appeared on "The Today Show," "Good Morning America," ESPN's "SportsCenter" and "Sports Illustrated." He is married to Lea, with whom he has two children: Henry and Emma Mary Heiden.
