Emma Bullington was born in 1968. She lives in Brooklyn, New York. She has published short stories and articles in The New Yorker, The Paris Review, and elsewhere. She is the co-author of the novel The Body Artist (2006, with Kelly Link), which won the Sidewise Award for Alternate History; she also published a collection of short fiction titled The Secret Lives of Houdini (2009)
Her work has appeared in anthologies including Okey-Panky (2000), Best American Short Stories (1999), and The Pushcart Prize (2007). She has taught creative writing at Columbia University, Bennington College, and elsewhere.
