Edwin Hubbell Chapin was an American author, editor, and lecturer. He wrote the best-selling books "The Great Wave" and "The Secret of the Ages". Chapin was a prolific writer, with more than one hundred books published. His work is notable for its scientific accuracy, advocacy of progressive ideas, and dedication to humanitarian causes
Chapin was born in Albany, New York, on Christmas Day in 1854. He earned his college degree at Union College in Schenectady, New York, but did not graduate. He later studied law at Albany Law School but also did not complete his degree there.
