and then for McGraw-Hill. He then became the Director of Public Relations at National Distillers Corporation. From there he became Vice President of The Personal Touch Inc., which was the parent company of the Pillsbury Company.
He was later President and CEO of The Personal Touch Inc., which became known as The Pillsbury Company (now operated by General Mills). During his tenure at Pillsbury, Don was honored with numerous awards including the Thomas Dewey Award for Public Service and the Distinguished Career Achievement Award from the National Restaurant Association. His marriage to his wife, Debbie Elium, in 1987 produced two children: Don Jr.
and Lisa.
