Dikembe Mutombo is a four-time NBA defensive player of the year winner. He was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, but moved to America with his family when he was three. He became the first player to start at least 1,000 games, leading the NBA in blocked shots twice, and winning four straight Defensive Player of the Year awards in 2002 through 2005. Mutombo is currently president of the NBA Players Association.
