Dez Marie is a poet, musician and writer. She lives in South Carolina and is the author of the poetry collections "The Sweet Song of Love", "The Broken Road", and "Strange Things" as well as the short fiction collections "Crimson Days" and "The Bee Keeper's Daughter". Dez is also the recipient of the 2013 SC Poetry Journal Award for Best First Book. Her work has been anthologized in numerous publications, including "Black Literature Forum: The Best African-American Poetry Since 1950" (University of Illinois Press) and "Best American Poetry: 2012" (Vintage)
She is a 2015 Fellow at the John M. Olin Institute for Inquiry into the Causes of War at Yale University.
