Deepa Bajaj is the author of the best-selling memoir, The Toss of a Coin, which was selected as an Oprah's Book Club selection in 2004. It was also named one of the best books of 2004 by The New York Times Book Review, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, and The Chicago Tribune. It was awarded the 2005 Los Angeles Times Book Prize for Nonfiction. She was also the co-founder and executive director of Women for Women International, a national NGO that has worked to end violence against women in India for more than twenty years.
