Cindy Williams, also known as Cindy Crawford, is an American model. She is the third of five children of Howard, an auto mechanic, and Doris, a homemaker. Her family moved to several cities including Youngstown, Ohio; Flint, Michigan; and San Jose, California. At age 16 she won the Oveido pageant in San Jose and at 18 was signed by Elite Modeling Agency in New York
She had her first cover shoot for Seventeen magazine when she was 19 years old. After modeling for four years she decided to pursue acting full-time. Her first film was the 1983 comedy Sgt.
Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, but her biggest break came when she starred in the 1986 film Pretty Woman with Richard Gere.
