Chris Patten is a British documentary filmmaker and author. He is the former Chairman of the BBC Trust and was the last Governor of Hong Kong. He served as European Union Special Envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan and was President of the European Council in the period 2007–10. He was awarded the Order of Merit by Queen Elizabeth II for services to European integration in 2009
