He is also the author of The Spiritual Abuse of African American Children: A Handbook for Parents and Professionals, as well as numerous articles on the topic of spiritual abuse in African American families. Dr. Givens has been a featured expert on Dateline NBC, Black Entertainment Television (BET), and The Oprah Winfrey Show
He is the founder and president of the National Center for Spiritually Abused Children and Families (NCSAC). He has served as an expert witness in over five hundred court cases involving child abuse and neglect.
