Carnie Wilson was born on May 27, 1964, in Oakland, California to a musical family. She started out as a model and did a few television commercials before deciding that she wanted to be a singer. Carnie, along with her brother Joey, formed the pop group Wilson Phillips. In 1988 they had a #1 hit with "Hold On," which also won them two Grammy Awards. After going their separate ways in 1990, Carnie and Joey reunited again in 1996 for some special performances on The Oprah Winfrey Show! Carnie has had a remarkable acting career as well, appearing in such films as Sixteen Candles and Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise.
